AroganckiKartoflakRound starts with a bidding phase. Everybody at the table takes turn to declare how many points they think their pair can get this round. Every player only gets one chance!6archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

AroganckiKartoflakThe person sitting on the left hand of the dealer starts. Since for this round our partner Damien1015 is the dealer, the bidding starts with Snowrider, then it proceeds clockwise.7archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

AroganckiKartoflakPerson wins the trick by playing the highest trump in the trick or the highest card in the leading suit. The cards used in Pedro are a standard-deck of 52 cards. The ranks of the cards are A (highest), K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 (lowest).10archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

AroganckiKartoflakHowever, *only cards in a trump suit give any points*. You won't get points for any other suit. 11archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

AroganckiKartoflakException to this rule are 5s. Corresponding 5 in red or black color is also treated as trump and also gives points. Off-suit trump 5 is considered slightly weaker than regular trump 5, which means if they were the only trumps played the regular trump 5 would win!12archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

AroganckiKartoflakYou may ask how is the trump suit decided? Well, the person who bids the highest number selects it! After the bidding is over all cards that are not trumps are discarded and everybody draws until they have 6 cards. AroganckiKartoflakOur best suit is probably clubs with only 3 cards. They are pretty strong, but we lack point-scoring cards, so it may be risky to bid there. Let's pass.16archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

AroganckiKartoflakTo ensure every trump is in play, the dealer may take all the remaining trump cards in the deck. Keep that in mind, as this gives the pair with the dealer significant advantage!2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

AroganckiKartoflakThe playing phase now starts. Our objective is to get 7 points collectively with our partner. If we manage to do that we get as many points as we scored. However, if we get less than 7 points, at the end of the round we get -7 points. Don't bite more than you can chew! AroganckiKartoflakAlso if after the bidding phase any player has more than 6 cards they would have to play two cards per trick until they have the same number of cards as everybody.
