Grand_TheftWelcome to Kingdomino! In this game, we will be creating our kingdoms from domino pieces. 1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
Grand_TheftThis Is our kingdom,2map_surface000
Grand_TheftAnd this is Mister Tutorial's kingdom!3castle_92646896000
Grand_TheftBoth of our kingdoms Start with the palace piece, around which the rest will be built.4archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000castle 6 castle_92646896 6
Grand_TheftEach round will start with 4 dominos on the table, ordered, from top to bottom, by how valuable they are.
Our opponent already chose the second domino.
Let's take our turn by picking the first domino - the double desert one. Try to click on it to pick it!1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1d93e6a6b10
Grand_TheftGood Job!
Since this is a 2 player game, each player has 2 king meeples to place each round, meaning 2 dominos to claim. It's our turn again now! Let's take the third domino - the one with forest and meadow on it. 1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1d9883e3810
Grand_TheftNice! Our opponent claimed the last available domino, and 4 dominos for the next round were revealed.
1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1daa9a88900
Grand_TheftWe will now take turns according to the order of the dominos we chose. (we have the topmost domino, so we go first!)
The turn has two parts: Placing the domino that we claimed before, and claiming a domino for the next round.2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1daa9a88900
Grand_TheftLet's take our turn by placing our double desert piece horizontally, to the left of our palace, and then picking the third domino for the next round - the one with the sea and desert.
Click on the appropriate place in our kingdom to place the piece and then click on the third domino to pick it.

Grand_TheftGood Job! You're getting into this. Since Mister Tutorial had the second topmost meeple, he took his turn after us, and now it's our turn again.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1dd83a10200
Grand_TheftNow we do the same two things: place a domino and pick a domino. But, I think now is a good time to let you know about placement rules.
Don't run away! It's just two rules, and they are quite simple:2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1dd83a10200
Grand_TheftLike in classic dominos, when we place a piece, at least one side of it has to touch a side that it matches in color (Orthogonally).3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1dd83a10200
Grand_TheftThe domino that we are currently placing has forest and meadow, both of which we don't have on our kingdom yet, but rest assured: The palace counts as a wildcard for this rule, so anything can go next to it. 4archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1dd83a10200
Grand_TheftThe second rule is that no matter what, our kingdom has to fit in a 5*5 grid (each domino has 2 grid squares). The palace can be anywhere on that grid, but nothing can go out of it. Since we just started, this isn't a problem.5archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1dd83a10200
Grand_TheftNow that we know that, let's make our move. Place our domino opposite to the one we placed before, and choose the second domino - the double sea one.6archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1dd83a10210
Grand_TheftA new round begins! Now comes the most important part: crowns. They are the thing that gives us points!
1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1de68ab3800
Grand_TheftAt the end of the game, our kingdom will earn points for areas of the same land type (color). Each one of those areas is worth the number of squares in it, times the number of crowns on it. Therefore, an area with 0 crowns is worth nothing! (anything times 0 is 0)2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1de68ab3800
Grand_TheftWould you look at that: we picked one domino with 2 sea squares, and another with a sea crown!
If we place those together, we will have an area of 3 sea squares with 1 crown - that's 3 points! 3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1de68ab3800
Grand_TheftIt might be tempting to pick as many crowns as possible, but usually, that means picking lower dominos which leads us to fewer choices next round, So we have to carefully balance that!4archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1de68ab3800
Grand_TheftNow you know all the basic rules!
Let me show you some extra stuff.5archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1de68ab3800
Grand_TheftHere You can click to see the list of dominos, and how common they are. That can help you know how many more tiles of some kind are left in the deck.6more-information628a1de68ab3800
Grand_TheftBelow that, you see it says "no additional rules".
That's because there are some optional rules you can add to the game!7additional_rules628a1de68ab3800
Grand_Theft"The Middle Kingdom" gives you 10 bonus points if your palace is right at the center of the kingdom.8info_and_dominoes628a1de68ab3800
Grand_Theft"Harmony" gives you 5 bonus points if your kingdom has no holes.9additional_rules628a1de68ab3800
Grand_Theft"The mighty duel" is a special game mode for 2 players only. It plays with both of the extra rules I just explained, and the kingdoms are 7x7 instead of 5x5.

Grand_TheftHave fun discovering those when you play!
I hope this tutorial helped you learn how to play this fantastic little game! 11archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment628a1de68ab3800
