At the end of round 7, I had sheep in my farmyard and I had played the occupation Sheepwalker (B104). According that card, I can exchange sheep for other things *at any time*.
In the Harvest phase, I wanted to turn one sheep into a vegetable. I wanted to turn that vegetable into a food and keep one of my food coins for the next round. However, the system automatically paid four food and didn’t wait for me to make an action. Apparently, it didn’t recognize that I had an option to produce food from sheep.
In the breeding phase, offspring was produced and I had one sheep too many. The system gave me no option but to discard it. I think it’s correct that once the sheep had breeded, one walked away. But the system didn’t recognize that I could have used the sheep walker just before the breeding phase.
So the way the programming has been done, there seems to be a restriction on the moments that you can use the sheepwalker.• A violação de regras está visível na revisão do jogo? Se sim, em que número de jogada?

Fireplace also allows players to convert sheep to food at any time so it should be possible to implement "at any time" for sheep walker theoretically.

27 dez 2021 20:39 • Note that there is this setting that if you have no special actions and you have enough food to feed your family, feeding phase is processed automatically. Apparently, this setting doesn't recognize sheepwalker as a special action yet.

Unfortunately I did find this (older) bug report only now or I would not have needed to start a new report...
I think that asking
- Before feeding phase

- After the breeding phase
should solve the problem.
But as you write - just considering Sheep Walker as a special action could solve the problem too.

2 fev 2022 15:01 • In the past 3 days, I've had 2 games where opponents with sheep walker made the game go bananas by trying to convert during last harvest. This seems a little different from this issue (not having the option to convert) but I figured I should add it here?
Basically they wanted to do normal conversions to vegs & boars to breed, but the game just slams a bunch of error messages in everyone's faces and throw them all out. Both times, the only solution was to refresh endlessly, somehow get back in the game and just give up on converting altogether.

7 mai 2022 15:35 • I had a similar experice with Seed Trader in game #263107248. I could have eaten y cow on the last turn and bought a veg but it just ended the game. Is the issue also one of settings? I had auto reorganise on as "Enabled without confirm" if I had "Enabled with confirm" I guess it would have stopped?

During the harvest phase, I turned 3 sheep into 3 pigs and cooked 1 of the pigs. I then got the option to consume 10 food for the feeding; or to rearrange animals. I needed to rearrange to make it fit, however the game froze when I picked that option. I reloaded, and now picked the feeding option. This was successful, but the game now no longer let me rearrange, and rather kept the additional pigs next to the farm. I was able to rearrange later.

10 set 2022 6:00 • If player wants to use Sheep Walker function at the very end of the game (that is, after harvest and after animals have reproduced), user is presented with a "rearrange animals" option, but exchange button is not present. Once player has okayed rearrangement, system gives the standard Confirm and offers the exchange button. So technically, user can do the exchange at this point, but it is a very fleeting opportunity (especially because the confirm countdown runs very very fast). 10 set 2022 9:40 • Your proposal is against the rules - you can only exchange animals "on your farmyard". Otherwise you could take 6 sheep without having any space to accommodate them and turn them into 6 vegetables.

This should be allowed as it would not be against any rules.

The workaround is to set the "Auto reorganize" to manual so in case you breed animals, right after organizing them and hitting the CONFIRM button, you will have some seconds to enter Exchange mode.
In game boardgamearena.com/6/agricola?table=320215379&replayFrom=681 I could convert 2 sheep (1 newly bred and stored, and 1 previuosly existing) getting 2 valuable points deciding the game.

13 abr 2023 1:30 • I had both Sheep Walker and Sheep Whisperer in play, and then when a turn started and the game went to give me the sheep from Sheep Whisperer, it said I now had too many and forced me to discard without the option to use Sheep Walker.

16 fev 2024 16:58 • Hi Patrick, you had ample time to convert your sheep before the breeding phase, I don't quite see how this is a bug. Because of the restrictions on Sheepwalker, we can't allow conversions while newborn animals are pending
