No intel. No blueprints. Just a dropship, kind of a map, and a mission briefing that boils down to "kill the Queen and hope you're still human when it's over." Nemesis: Retaliation delivers on every word of that.
You play a squad of marines sent into a Facility crawling with alien horrors. Sounds cooperative, right? Well, it isn't… not really. Everyone's got a shared Mission Task, sure, but you're also secretly holding a Private Objective, and that hidden agenda might mean leaving a teammate behind, or worse, sabotaging the whole plan for a payday. This is a game where the person watching your back might also be quietly hoping you don't make it back to the shuttle.
Each turn, you get 2 Actions. You can move, shoot, search, patch a wound, whatever keeps you breathing. Move through unexplored corridors and you flip new rooms into existence, building the Facility as you go, never knowing what's behind the next door. Make noise, and something might hear you. Roll badly, and a creature crawls out of the dark and into your face.
Combat is tense rather than tactical; bullets don't guarantee kills. Fire spreads. Oxygen runs out. And that little Larva bite you shrugged off? It might be quietly turning you into something else entirely, something you won't find out about until it's far too late.
Trust is the real currency in Nemesis: Retaliation, and it runs out fast. You'll share ammo with someone one turn and wonder if they're planning to leave you behind the next. Every promise made over comms could be true, or just enough to keep you moving toward someone else's goal. By the end, the scariest thing in the Facility might not be the Queen at all, it's realizing you never really know who is on your side.

Sem informações prévias. Sem projetos. Apenas uma nave de transporte, uma espécie de mapa e um briefing da missão que se resume a "mate a Rainha e torça para ainda ser humano quando tudo acabar". Nemesis: Retaliation cumpre cada palavra dessa promessa.
Você joga como um esquadrão de fuzileiros enviado para uma Instalação infestada de horrores alienígenas. Parece cooperativo, certo? Bem, não é... na verdade. Todos têm uma Tarefa de Missão compartilhada, claro, mas você também tem um Objetivo Privado em segredo, e essa agenda oculta pode significar abandonar um companheiro de equipe ou, pior, sabotar todo o plano por uma recompensa. Este é um jogo onde a pessoa que está te protegendo também pode estar secretamente torcendo para que você não volte para a nave.
A cada turno, você tem 2 ações. Você pode se mover, atirar, procurar, cuidar de um ferimento, qualquer coisa que lhe permita respirar. Mova-se por corredores inexplorados e você revelará novas salas, construindo a Instalação conforme avança, sem nunca saber o que há atrás da próxima porta. Faça barulho e algo poderá ouvi-lo. Tire um resultado ruim nos dados e uma criatura rastejará da escuridão em sua direção.
O combate é tenso tanto quanto tático; balas não garantem mortes. O fogo se alastra. O oxigênio acaba. E aquela pequena mordida de larva que você ignorou? Ela pode estar silenciosamente transformando você em algo completamente diferente, algo que você só descobrirá quando for tarde demais.
Em Nemesis: Retaliation, a confiança é a verdadeira moeda, e ela se esgota rapidamente. Você pode compartilhar munição com alguém em um turno e se perguntar se essa pessoa pretende te abandonar no próximo. Cada promessa feita por meio de comunicação pode ser verdadeira, ou apenas suficiente para te manter avançando em direção ao objetivo de outra pessoa. No final, a coisa mais assustadora na Instalação pode não ser a Rainha, mas sim perceber que você nunca sabe realmente quem está do seu lado.
